A developmental edit, also referred to as a structural edit, is a type of editorial service that focuses on organizing the key plot points of a novel or short story. 

Structural edits start at $0.010 per word and include in-line comments, providing guidance on where the eight plot points should be positioned within your story and feedback on dialogue, character development, pacing, and potential plot holes, all accompanied by a two-page editorial letter. A second round of edits is available if the revised manuscript is submitted within two weeks of the initial round's completion. Delivery of the finalized manuscript will take up to 14 days per round, so expect a total of up to 28 days for two rounds of edits.
