This is an example of what an author receives during a copy and line edit. When editing, I’ll make sure suggestions are turned on so you can see the changes directly in the manuscript. I’ll also leave comments explaining certain edits, especially when I’m pointing out a recurring issue or introducing something new, such as passive voice, tense shifts, sentence structure, or clarity concerns.

Please note that this sample does not include story-level comments. Those are reserved for developmental edits.
